The part number for a service replacement pair is 40X4308. The new roller is backwards compatible with all of the earlier T-Series machines, and with the Optra S as well.
Part number 40X0070, the original pickup roller pair part number, is now obsolete for all monochrome applications, but remains available for colour models C75X, C76X, C77X and C78X. Following is a photograph of 40X0070.
The new pickup roller (pictured below) has a ribbed tire instead of a textured one; there is no directionality to observe when installing it. At 13mm width, the tire is 3mm wider than the original.
One end of the new roller's hub is partially closed off, so it's impossible to deflect the retaining claw too far and snap it off.
The new roller appears to be a big improvement over the original.
